Hey friends and fam! So glad you stumbled across my page!! Here’s who I am, what I’m doing, and why I’m doing it!!
My name is Sophie Sapienza and I am from Evergreen, CO. I am 22 years old. I have a younger brother and two incredible parents! I am a senior at the University of Wyoming getting my degree in International Studies and English!! I love to read, take pictures, hang out with friends and family, play games, travel (obviously) and I am a little too obsessed with coffee (but that’s a major win in my book!!)
SHOOT GOD IS SO! DANG! FAITHFUL!
For years now, the World Race has been a calling of mine. I found out about the trip was I was eleven years old and have wanted to do it since. When I had my phone interview, my interviewer was shocked and jokingly told me that I had broken the record for the longest time someone has wanted to do the race. I’m pretty dang proud of that 😉 (If our route was a 11n11 trip, the title of this first blog post was going to be 11n11n11n11 because if you do that math, I was eleven when I found out about it, it’s been eleven years of wanting to do this, and it would have been an eleven-month trip to eleven countries, but I digress.)
Anyways, the Lord has finally blessed my time to go on the World Race! I am SO EXCITED to fulfill this calling that He gave me so long ago! I can hardly even believe it’s happening! During a particularly rough conversation when I was in the midst of applying to the world race, I heard the Holy Spirit say “you can now focus on the things I’ve called you to do”.
Woah.
It was as clear as day that the World Race is my next step in my life. How humbling that the father has chosen me to do His good work in this way.
I am so very passionate about immersing myself into new cultures and meeting people from around the world. I am even more passionate about the gospel and the great commission! I can’t wait to be traveling to 6 different countries over the next year to share about the best news ever!!
My squad and I will be traveling to:
Guatemala
Romania
Albania
Turkey
Jordan
South Asia
*****Over this next year, I am raising support to cover all of my living expenses, travel expenses, travel cost, ministry cost, health insurance etc. The number that I have to raise (19,700) is intimidating to say the least, but I wholeheartedly believe that what Jesus calls us to, he provides for, and maybe that is through you! If you feel led to donate to me, go ahead and click the donation page on the world race (adventures in missions) homepage and look up my name. You can also click the “support” button up at the top of the page! Then donate whatever amount you wish! I truly appreciate every penny!! And thank you for doing your part in furthering the kingdom!! If your not able to financially assist me, I would love your prayers and encouragement. If you have any questions about the race, please reach out to me!
Thank you all for reading this first post! I can not wait to share with you all the incredible ways that the Lord is going to work and move around the world on here! Make sure to keep checking up on this blog site while I’m gone! Leave me a comment too!
Thank you all for your endless love and support!!

Hi Sophie! Beautiful post! I was wondering if there is a way to subscribe to your blog so we get an email when you post something new?
Where you at all disappointed that you weren’t going to 11 countries?
Heyy!! For a split second. If anything, I’m pumped to get to be in each place a little longer!!
